Karl Erik Erickson, 82, Pengilly, MN, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017 in Grand Rapids, MN.
Karl was born in Sweden in 1935 and came to the United States with his parents in 1945. He attended Hibbing High School and later worked for Food Service of America out of Duluth for 42 years prior to retirement. Karl enjoyed hunting, camping, and spending time at his Canadian cabin. He spent many years wintering in Florida and is most remembered for his out-going personality.
Karl is survived by his wife Jennie of 42 years, a son Michael (Donna), a daughter Deborah, stepchildren, Dr. Mike Miskovich (Elizabeth), Joseph Miskovich (Susan), William Miskovich (Lisa), and Bryan Miskovich, (Kimberly), his brother Siegfried Erickson; 3 grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 23 great step-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Grand Village Memory Units and the Hospice team for their exceptional care.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk. Fellowship following the burial will be held in the church hall. Arrangements made by Dougherty Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Cecilia’s Repair Fund.
