Karl Lee Willberg
Karl Lee Willberg, 60, Hibbing, died in his home, Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014. He was born in Virginia, MN on Sept. 12, 1954 to Wayland and Stephanie Willberg. Karl graduated from St. Cloud State University and returned to Hibbing where he worked for the Dept. of Corrections in their Sentence to Serve program. His latest work entailed running a carpentry crew building ramps for people with disabilities across the region. In his free time Karl loved deer hunting, curling and spending time at the lake.
He is survived by his son Jason (Courtney) Worlie of Chisholm, a stepdaughter Nicole (Lee) Jorgensen in Australia, his mother Stephanie Willberg of Hibbing, a sister Karen (Daniel) Maszkiewicz of Silver Spring, MD, grandchildren Peighton, Sloen and Auvryana Worlie, 4 nieces and nephews; Kevin, Kelly, Lisa and Lori Maszkiewicz will miss their “uncle cookie”, his cousins Terry (Carol) Pogorels, Tim Pogorels and Richard (Deanna) Fink and his beloved dog Maya.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Willberg, a stepson Jeff Brandenburger, his father Wayland and a cousin Jan Pogorels.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Nov. 10 in the Dougherty Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian Lederer will officiate. Visitation will be in the funeral home, Monday from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Buhl, MN.
