Katherine “Kay” E. Ongaro
Kay Ongaro died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, in Hibbing on Monday, February 9, 2015. She was born in Leetonia on October 30, 1925 to George and Katherine (Starcević) Milosević.
She graduated from the College of St. Scholastica and worked as a nurse and taught nursing. Once her children were born, she spent her time as a homemaker and raised her three kids.
Kay loved being at her cabin and spending time on “projects” at the lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank V. Ongaro, brother, John Milosevich, sisters Annie and Frances, and daughter-in-law Robin K. Ongaro.
She is survived by her sisters, Josephine Milosevic and Mary Powell, daughter Jeanne (Scott) Fahlstrom, sons, David (Gwen) Ongaro, and Frank M. Ongaro, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hibbing. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time in the church. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
