Kathleen Lynn “Katie” (Melbostad) Dixon

Katie Lynn Dixon, 41, formerly of Hibbing, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at her home in Nashwauk, MN after a courageous 7 month journey with glioblastoma grade IV brain cancer.  Katie was born February 14, 1977 to Michael Duane Melbostad and Laura Ann (Eichholz) Bigo in Hibbing.  She attended Hibbing Schools.   She was a very talented artist and musician.

Katie is survived by parents, Laura and Lonnie Bigo, Nashwauk, MN, and Mike Melbostad Wasilla, AK, children, Emma Jean Dixon, Littleton, CO,  Larry Lou Roberts, Hibbing, MN, grandson, Odin Ash Aragon, Littleton, CO, brother, Jeff and Brittany Melbostad, Hibbing, their children, Riley, Leila, and Orlynn, grandparents, Geri and Louie Collyard, Hibbing, Orlynn and Millie Melbostad, Nashwauk, MN, beloved aunts, uncles and cousins, and special people in her life, Ryan and Cade Roberts, Carol Moe, Amber Pearson, and Daylen Sater, all of Hibbing.

She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Charles “Bud” Eichholz, nephew, Hunter M. Melbostad, and two uncles, Jack Andrews, and Ron Melbostad.

Funeral services for Katie will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.  Tricia Andrews will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday.  A luncheon in Katie’s honor will be held at Sunrise Bakery Reception Hall immediately following the funeral service.  2601 1st Avenue, Hibbing, MN.  Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
