Kelsey Christine Perkins
On June 12, 1994, the world became a better place with the birth of Kelsey Christine Perkins. She was born with a smile that lit up the room and a twinkle in her eye that never faded. She was kind and loving; protective of those she loved. Her family and friends meant everything to her and their lives will never be the same without her. A true free spirit, Kelsey lived in the moment, with a heart full of excitement. She was always dreaming of the good times to come. Her passion for living was infectious and drew in everyone around her.
Though the world is a darker place with her passing, the heavens now shine even brighter than ever.
Kelsey died tragically as a result of a car accident on April 28, 2012.
She is survived by her parents, Lisa (Jim) Brant and Troy Perkins, all of Hibbing; siblings Colten Perkins and Conner Perkins, both of Hibbing; Brock Perkins of San Diego, CA, and Chelsea Perkins of Duluth, MN; step-siblings Shaye Brant, Hailey Brant, and Elijah Brant, all of Hibbing; grandparents Mary and Richard Smith of Kelly Lake, Carol and Bernie Sydow of Hibbing, and Michael and Delores Perkins of Littleton, CO; great-grandparents Eldred Kukkonen of Keewatin and Verna Smith of Duluth; aunts and uncles: Christy (Aaron) Clusiau of Nashwauk, Stacy (Griffin) Jeannette of Duluth, Paul Perkins of Phoenix, AZ, Leah Thayer of Hibbing, Dusty (Amber) Sydow of Hibbing, Sam Sydow of Hibbing; Angela (Mark) Cothren of Alma, GA, and Toni (Lee) Roberts of Topeka, KA; cousins Jacie Clusiau, Daniel Clusiau, Stanley Jeannette, and her cousin and goddaughter Olive Jeannette as well as numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and extended family. She was preceded in death by great-grandparents Stanley Bautch, Elaine Begley, and Eustice Smith and a great-aunt, Cathy Smith.
Visitation for Kelsey will be Thursday May 3, 2012, from 5—8 PM in Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing. Visitation will continue on Friday, May 4, 2012, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hibbing, from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.
