Kenneth S. Rhodes

Kenneth S. Rhodes, age 83 of Hibbing, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 5, 1941, in Spooner, WI, to Arthur and Emma (Shubert) Rhodes. Ken was joined in marriage to Kathy Vier on June 23, 1962, in Solon Springs, WI. Ken started a career early on as a meat cutter, he worked for numerous stores, including Red Owl and Super One in Hibbing. Ken was a meat cutter for 65 years, finally retiring in 2011. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. Every summer, Ken would spend two weeks in the summer fishing in Solon Springs, WI, with his high school friend Jack.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Rhodes of Hibbing; his children, Lynn (Terry) Wilson of Apollo Beach, FL, Lori (Chico Maki) Rhodes of Hibbing, Jeffrey Rhodes of Angola, IN, Lisa Rhodes of Keewatin, and Amy Rhodes of Hibbing; his sister, Dorothy Rydberg of Hibbing, MN; his grandchildren, Destiny (Ricardo), Thomas, Dameon, Paiton, Shannan, Cody (Jana), Anna, Reagan, and Karsen; 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Bernard, Eddy, Bill, and Gene; and his sisters, Thelma and Rosie.

Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25th, 2025, at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing, MN. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the beginning of the service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
