Laresa “Lara” F. Sletten

Laresa “Lara” F. Sletten, 37, Chisholm, MN, died Fri. March 2, 2018 in the Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.  She was born Sept. 26, 1980 in Grand Rapids, MN to Brian and Patricia Sletten.  Lara became a CNA shortly after high school and had worked at Guardian Angels Health Care Center in Hibbing, Heritage Manor Health Care Center in Chisholm and at St. Michael’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Virginia.  Her dedication and work ethic was an inspiration to everyone.  The selflessness she had in her career carried over into her family life where she loved to spend time with them and with her fiancé Bill Worlie and his children.  Her favorite pastimes were to go camping and 4 wheeling whenever she had the chance.

She is survived by her parents Brian and Patricia Sletten of Pengilly, MN, her siblings: Ben (Amanda) Sletten of Nashwauk, MN, Cody (Jonnie) Sletten of Pengilly, Jacob (Kiersten) Sletten of Keewatin, MN and Elizabeth (Jay) Sletten also of Keewatin, her maternal grandfather Luke Hoey of Pengilly, nieces and nephews: Gabe, Asher and Madison and her fiance Bill Worlie and his children: Sam (Jen) Worlie and their daughter Ali, Melissa Worlie and Jake (Sara) Worlie along with their son Max.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Everett and Audrey Sletten, her maternal grandmother Janice Hoey and her uncle Kevin Sletten.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Nashwauk, MN at 2:00 p.m..  Visitation will be in the church on Wed. From 1:00 p.m. until service time.
