Larry L. Carruth
Larry L. Carruth, 69, Hibbing, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 22, 1942 to Ray and Ruby (Boyle) Carruth in Redwood Falls, MN. Larry had been a resident of Hibbing since 1970 coming from Redwood Falls, MN. He was united in marriage to Janet Schultz on June 8, 1965. He co-owned and worked for Northwoods Ford in Hibbing for many years. Larry was a member of the Hibbing Elks , the Hibbing Moose Club, and the Hibbing Classic Bowling League. He enjoyed bowling and had been a part of many bowling leagues throughout his life. Larry also was an avid sports fan. He loved watching his grandkids’ sporting events. He also was very fond of all of the Minnesota Sports Teams. He enjoyed watching the Golden Gophers in just about any sport, and the Minnesota Vikings year in and year out.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Carruth, Hibbing, his son, Timothy (Jill) Carruth, Hibbing, daughter, Tami (Scott Hugger) Carruth, Nashville, TN., brother, Darrell (Janet) Carruth, Brooklyn Park, MN., and his six grandchildren, Ashley Rudstrom Kenneth Rudstrom, Timothy Carruth, Travis Carruth, Abbey Benoit, and Nicholas Benoit. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two infant sisters, and infant grandson, Anthony Scott Carruth.
Funeral services for Larry will be held at 11:00am, Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Terry Tilton will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Monday. Interment will be held at the Maple Hill Cemetery columbarium in Hibbing. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
