Leo C. Diachok
Leo C. Diachok, 88, Hibbing, MN, died Friday, December 30, 2016, in the Castle Ridge Care Center in Eden Prairie, MN. He was born Jan. 30, 1928 in Bramble, MN to Onufry and Mary Diachok. Leo was a veteran who had served as a corporal in the Army, stationed in the Philippines and Japan. He was married to Dahlia Bugliosi on Sept. 16, 1950 in the Immaculate Conception Church in Hibbing. He worked at the Hanna Mining Co. as an electrician and then became a salesman to the mines for Westinghouse in their electronics division. Leo loved spending time helping people with their remodeling and construction projects. At times, the work crew included his friends: Pat Flynn, Coxy Passeri and Rano, Richard and Ray Bugliosi, who also were his family. Spending weekends at Perch Lake with his family and going out dancing to Pine Beach or Bimbo’s Octagon were always an enjoyment. He was always dancing or listening to polka music. He also loved to reconnect with his home life by helping his parents on the farm in Bramble. He belonged to the VFW Post 8510, the immaculate Conception Church and the Knights of Columbus and its’ dance club.
He is survived by his daughters: Kathy Ruemmele of Eden Prairie, MN and Gail Klarich of Hibbing, sisters; Olga Snow of San Diego, CA and Donna Price of Minneapolis, MN, grandchildren; David (Jenny) Klarich, and Tyler and Brooke Rummele, and had a great grandson on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dahlia, his granddaughter Kristine Klarich and siblings; Dorothy Nelson, Martha Hvizdak and George Diachok.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hibbing. Visitation will be in the church from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing. Memorials may be made to North Star Hospice.
