Leonard R. Anderson

Leonard R. Anderson, 87, Hibbing, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Diamond Willow in Grand Rapids, MN.  He was born June 7, 1926 in Hibbing, MN to Gustard and Selma Anderson.  He was an Army veteran of World War II.  Upon his return to Hibbing, he married Joyce Carlson and had worked at Schirmer Bros. Heating.  Leonard then went on to own Clarks’s Plumbing. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Hibbing Masonic Lodge, the Aad Temple Shrine and the American Legion Post 222.
He is survived by his nephew Gerald (Kathy) Anderson of Grand Rapids, MN, his great nephew Nick Anderson, of Stillwater, MN, his sister Ruby Lee of Vista, CA. and numerous other nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents, his sibling; Aggie Jordan, Walter, Vernon, William, Jerry and Raymond who died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday in the Dougherty Funeral Home.  The Rev. Larry Quanbeck will officiate.  Visitation will be in the funeral home from Noon until service time.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.
