Leonard B. Wauzynski
Leonard B. Wauzynski, 91, Hibbing, died Friday, May 9, 2014 at his home. He was born in Hibbing to John and Della Wauzynski on November 22, 1922 and was a veteran of WW II serving in the European Theater receiving the Bronze Star. Leonard had been employed with various mines in the area retiring from Minntac as a Foreman in 1977. He had been a member of the VFW Post 8510 and the Blessed Sacrament Parish.
Leonard is survived by his children, David Wauzynski Sr., and Donna Wauzynski both of Hibbing, three grandchildren, Christine (Sam) Guillen, David Wauzynski Jr., and Stefani Wauzynski, 6 great grandchildren, Travis, Dustin, Dylan, and Austin Guillen, and Brittany and Ryan Wauzynski, and great-great granddaughter, Lorena Guillen. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Anne, son, Michael Wauzynski, great granddaughter, Cassandra Guillen, and siblings, Joseph, Edward, and John Wauzynski, Helen Sandor, Alice Koscak, and Mary Larvik.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am., Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in the Dougherty Funeral Home with The Rev. Fr. Brian Lederer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
