Ethelmae “Liz” Connors Berklich

Liz Berklich, 86, lifelong resident of Hibbing, MN, died peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, April 2, 2017 in Naples, Florida.  Liz was born on April 7, 1930 to Reuben and Margaret (McCabe) Connors (both deceased) in Hibbing, MN.  After graduating from Hibbing High School in 1948, Liz worked with the Hanna Mining Company and at the Kevin Roche Insurance Company.   On November 8, 1952, Liz received the sacrament of marriage when she married William “Bill” Berklich.  During her early years of marriage Liz was employed at Planet Travel and The Hibbing Liquor Store.  Liz was a devout parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing, and in her later years St. Agnes Catholic Church in Naples, Florida, where she and Bill made their winter home.   Liz attended Hibbing Community College and studied her passion for art, specializing in water color and later became a member of The Iron Range Arts Association.  Liz was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother and doting grandmother, who loved traveling abroad and visiting with her children and grandchildren.

Liz is survived by her husband Bill Berklich; her three daughters, Diane Berklich Tucker (Terry), Peggy Berklich Evrard (Rick), and, Tracey Berklich Nate (Doug); three grandchildren, Alex Evrard, Lauren Evrard and Jack Nate; three sisters, Kay Connors Nevanen, Lucy Connors Radovich, and Sharon Connors Foster; (Daryl) one brother, Pat Connors (Coetta) and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am., Saturday, April 22, 2017 in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with visitation for one hour before the Mass.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home Hibbing.

The Berklich family would like to especially thank Barb Bressendorf for her loving care, true friendship and Assisted Hands of Naples, FL.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hibbing Community College Art Foundation.
