Lois A. Genise

Lois A. Genise, 87, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Friday, September 18, 2015 at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing.  She was born on October 7, 1927 to Edward and Sadie (Greuling) Gallagher in Hibbing.  A homemaker by trade, Lois was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing, Hibbing Historical Society, 1 ^st Settlers, and French Club.    She volunteered with PTA at Assumption School and celebrated life with her dinner club, and the HAs.  Her pastimes included cooking, fishing and golfing.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jill Marette, Somerset, WI, Geralyn (Bob) Fortney, Land O’ Lakes, FL, four grandchildren, Chris (Kristi) Kampsula, Somerset, WI, Brenda (Don) Nelson, East Farmington, WI, Chad (Tanya) Marette, Clear Lake, WI, and Erin (Gary) Marette-Sawyer, Woodbury, MN, 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and her beloved sister-in-law, Della Lundquist, Northfield, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Sadie Gallagher, husband, Louis Genise in 2010, infant daughter, son, Jack Genise, and two sisters, Dorothy Priley and Margaret Gimbel.

Funeral services for Lois will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Wednesday.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
