Loretta A. “Lorri” Frand

Loretta A. Frand, 81, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Friday, May 15, 2015 at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing. She was born on February 6, 1934 to Guido and Vanda A. (Bianchini) Maggi in Hibbing. She entered the Sacrament of Marriage with Carl E. Frand on August 9, 1952. She was a member of the Hibbing Catholic Community, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1221 of Hibbing. A homemaker by trade, she cared for her husband for many years, her family was extremely important to her. To many, she was known as the kindest, gentlest person you would ever meet.

She is survived by her four children, Shellie (Jim) Hagsten, Keewatin, Su (Chris) Thompson, Hibbing, Lindy (Dave) Either, Cedar Rapids, IA, and K.C. Frand, Minnetonka, MN, two siblings, Patricia Curtis, and Ray “Butch” (Sharon) Maggi, both of Palatine, IL, her aunt, Gloria Carleton, Miami, FL, twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren with one on the way, her special sister-in-laws, Phyliss and Patti Frand, both of Hibbing, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Carl Frand on May 1, 1994.

In accordance with wishes and loving and caring nature, Loretta has donated her body to Mayo Clinic Bequest Program in Rochester, MN. There will be no service at this time. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
