Louis A. Schaefbauer

Louis A. Schaefbauer, 84, died Thursday March 12, 2015, at Essentia Health Virginia Hospital.  He was born Sept.4, 1930, in Herreid, SD to Mike and Margret Schaefbauer.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War.  In 1967, he moved to Hibbing and purchased the Airway Inn and had recently retired.

He is survived by two stepsons, James (Pat) Vosburg, and Mark (Jaqi) Vosburg; three grandchildren: Scott Vosburg, Cliff (Corinne) Vosburg, and Misha Vosburg; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mike (Marcella) Schaefbauer, and Richard Schaefbauer; and by many, many, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki; by three brothers: Martin (Rose), Anthony (Joann), and Damion (Marcy); and by five sisters: Mary (Merlin) Zurn, Rosella  Mcgrath, Marcine (Maynard) Goehring, Augusta (Kenny) Bernard, and Rita (Archie) Mitzel.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church from 11 AM until the 12 Noon funeral Mass.  Burial will be in the Buyck Cemetery at a later date.  Luncheon will be held at The Airway Inn after the funeral. Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
