Ludwig Gave
Ludwig Gave, 85, Hibbing, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 4, 2015, at Bayshore Health Center in Duluth. He was born on October 31, 1929, to Herman and Dora (Brown) Gave in Avon, MN. Ludwig was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War. Mr. Gave had been employed with Hanna Mining and National Steel in Keewatin for over 40 years. He loved gardening, working puzzles, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Christi and Adam. He was a member of the Moose Club, VFW 8510, and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his children, Louis Gave, and Diane (Charles) Crego; two grandchildren, Christi (Dewey) Crego-Ritter, and Adam Crego; and son in law, John Strgar, all of Hibbing; and his sister, Ruby Vickerman, Deerwood, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Joan Gave; daughter, Cindy Strgar; and 12 siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, September 9, 2015, in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Hibbing, MN, with the Rev. Kevin Olson officiating. Visitation will be in Church for one hour before the service. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Mid-Range Honor Guard. Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.
