Mabel L. Waldvogel
Mabel L. Waldvogel, 88, longtime Nashwauk resident died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at home. She was born on May 15, 1925 to Martin and Anna (Hanson) Engh in Burtrum, MN. She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk, MN. A homemaker by trade, Mabel loved visiting with her grandchildren, watching television, cooking, sewing, and playing bingo.
She is survived by her son, Jerry L. (Margaret “Peggy”) Waldvogel, Keewatin, MN, and her daughter, Nancy (Bill) Hendricks, Nashwauk, MN, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Anna (Hanson) Engh, her husband, Edmund L. Waldvogel, her son, James E. Waldvogel, daughter, Jane Sundberg, a grandson Jerry J. Waldvogel an infant brother, and three sisters, Hannah, Ella, and Alice.
Funeral services for Mabel will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, April 26, 2014 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk. The Rev. Fr. Dennis Hoffman will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the Nashwauk Cemetery in Nashwauk. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
