Marie A. Dorgan
Marie A. Dorgan, 99, Keewatin died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center of Hibbing. She was born on July 29, 1913 to John and Maria (Moratz) Hren in Keewatin. She entered the Sacrament of Marriage on May 21, 1934 with John R. Dorgan at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Keewatin. She was employed as the head Baker at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul. Marie was a hard worker. She held many jobs throughout her life including; Sammy’s Pizza in Hibbing, the Howard Restaurant, the Androy Hotel, and the Open Kitchen in Keewatin. She was also known to be a fantastic sewer. Marie proudly displayed her needlework on the walls in her home. Marie, along with her family was looking forward to her 100th birthday in July.
She is survived by her four daughters, Shirley (Aldo) DeMarchi, International Falls, MN., Rosemary Breen, Marble, MN., Kathleen Pfannenstein, Keewatin, MN., and Margaret Stark, Bethlehem, PA., twenty grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John in 1974, her son, James Dorgan, two daughters, Patricia Dorgan and Barbara Crowley, two sisters, Mrs. Ann Juhline, and Catherine Novak, and her brother, John Hren.
Funeral services for Marie will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Dennis Hoffman will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
