Marilyn Jo Kilen Milovich Shalloe

Marilyn Shalloe, Hibbing went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by family members, on December 4, 2018.  She was 82 years old.

Marilyn was born October 10, 1936 to Alfred and Myrtle Kilen in Thief River Falls, MN and was raised on a farm near Gatzke, MN where she was taught her lifelong Christian values. The family moved to Hibbing in 1953 where Marilyn graduated from Hibbing High School in 1954.  She married Richie Milovich in January 1955 and they moved to Cleveland, Ohio with their new baby, Debra. The couple moved back to Hibbing where Jo, Jena, Ricky, Terri and Michael were born. Richie Milovich died in 1969.  A friend, John Shalloe, helped Marilyn run her taxi and bar businesses and they married in 1970 (later divorcing but remaining good friends).  Marilyn & John enjoyed putting on thousands of miles on the motorcycle riding with IRMC.  Marilyn retired as CEO of the taxi business in 2014 and she and John made Debra Mendez, CEO of Hibbing Taxi Inc.

She is survived by daughter Debra J. Mendez, daughter Diana J. de Leon, Donna J. Rosati, son Richard (Terrie) Milovich, daughter Terri (Mario) Rojas, son Michael (Beth) Milovich and the children’s stepfather, John Shalloe, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grand-children, Jeremy Mendez, Rita (Chris) Mendez), Aaron Mendez, Shide Timmons, Stevie (Kristen) de Leon, Sam (Ashley) de Leon, Angelo II Rosati, Anthony (Becky) Rosati, Jalina Jo (Omeed) Rosati, Richard (Molly) Milovich, Nicolas (Sarah) Milovich, Mario (Laren) Rojas, Michael (Megan) Rojas, Marcus Rojas, SchmXstrr Milovich, siblings, Wayne (Shirley) Kilen, Connie (Eugene) Folden, Edith Zahn and Joseph Kilen.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Myrtle (Johnson) Kilen, first husband, Richie Milovich, her step-mother Carinne Lanigan, parents-in-law Angie and Carl Milovich and Margaret and Michael Shalloe, brothers Roger Kilen and Donnie Kilen, son-in-law Steve de Leon, nephew Kelly Kilen, sisters-in-law Sharon Kilen and Shirley Kilen, and brother-in-law Junior Milovich.

Funeral services for Marilyn will be 11:30 am, Monday, December 10, 2018 at Abundant Life Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. David Torgerson will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:30 am funeral service at the church on Monday.   A luncheon in Marilyn’s honor will be served downstairs in the church hall immediately following the funeral service.    A spring interment will be held in Thief Lake, MN.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
