Mark S. Zaitz
Freed from all his pain and suffering here on earth, Mark S. Zaitz, 52, Hibbing, was welcomed home to the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul.  He was born in Hibbing on January 5, 1961, to Alfred and Anna Mae (Dowzicky) Zaitz.  Mark attended Assumption School, where he served as an altar boy and graduated from Hibbing High School in 1979.  He attended Hibbing Community College and the University of Minnesota, and then graduated from Dunwoody Institute in 1985.  He had worked as a computer technician at Data Serve in Eden Prairie prior to becoming disabled.  In years past he had enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, traveling, and computers.  He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.   Mark showed bravery and courage during his lifelong battle with diabetes and its many complications.
He is survived by a sister, Georgia Zaitz of Arizona; a sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Bill Hanegmon, of Hibbing; a brother, Dave Zaitz, of Hibbing; a niece, Laurie Wagner of Hastings, MN; three nephews:  Eric (Kim) Hanegmon and Troy (Cheryl) Hanegmon, both of Hibbing, and Adam (Amy) Hanegmon of Chisholm; and by several great-nieces and great-nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday March 6, 2013, in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hibbing, for one hour prior to the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing, at a later date.  Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.  May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Assumption Catholic School where mark attended grade school.
