Martin W. “Zooner” Sundvall
Martin W. Sundvall, 82, Hibbing, MN, died Friday; Jan. 9, 20015 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth, MN after a 12 year battle with neurosarcoidosis.  He was born Dec. 2, 1932 in Hibbing to Martin and Sylvia Sundvall.  He was a Navy veteran serving during the Koran War.  He returned to Hibbing where he married Sue Simberg and became a police officer for Hibbing.  He retired in 1987 after 25 years of services.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the VFW Post 8510 and the Winnebago Itasca Travelers.  Zooner always loved to build.  He had built his home in Hibbing, his lake home at Lawrence Lake, MN and was the supervisor for his handicapped accessible home in Hibbing.  He loved the outdoors and also enjoyed square dancing.  After his retirement, he and his wife spent their winters in Texas.  The family would like to thank Fairview Home Health, especially Gus and Heidi for the care Zooner was given.
He is survived by his wife Sue, 3 children: son, David of Boulder, CO and his children Ana and Jai Sundvall; his daughter Pamela (John) Hagberg of Janet Lake, MN and their children: Christina (Jeremy) Pearson and Victoria Hagberg and his son Greg (Melissa) Sundvall and their children Alyssa Garcia, Meghan Sundvall and Jacobi Sundvall, along with 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Shirley Musich, a brother Frank Sundvall and a nephew Marty Sundvall.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church, Hibbing.  The Rev. Ben Schori will officiate.  Visitation will be in the church from 10 a.m. until service time.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing
