Mary Kennedy Caroon, 88, Rush City, former longtime Hibbing resident, died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Rush City. Mary was born in Hibbing to William and Mary Jane Kennedy on June 20, 1924. She had worked as a nurse’s aid at the Hibbing General Hospital and was the housekeeper at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Mary will be missed by her children, Jamie Ann (Kevin) Luukkonen, Hibbing, Jennifer (Dave) Rogers, Lanesboro, MN, and Mary Jo (Jamie) Buttgereit, Braham, MN, step children, Darryl (Deborah) Caroon, Hibbing, Sharon (Terry) Hedberg, Coon Rapids, MN, Duane (Cindy) Caroon, Hibbing, Matt Caroon, Grantsburg, WI, Kathy Dahl, pine City, and Dan (Debi) Caroon, Kelly Lake, her sister, Charlotte Jane (Richard) Fetzik, Beaver Dam, WI, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George E. Caroon, her son, Jimmy Caroon, sister, Bridget Anna Kennedy, and brothers, John and Alex Kennedy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 25, 2012 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Friday in the Dougherty Funeral Home and continue in the funeral home Saturday at noon. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association at, alz.org or 1-800-272-3900.
