Mary Frances Egge

Mary Frances Willets Egge, 88, passed away on April 18, 2015, in Hibbing. Born in Halifax County, NC in July of 1926, she lived a majority of her life on the Iron Range.

Fran lived an amazing life focused on her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Karen and Sherry; husband of 25 years, Richard Egge, who passed away in 1987; and by her first husband, the late Leston Smith. She is survived by her sons: Les (Kathy), Rick (Carla), and Jeff (Eileen); daughter, Sandy; as well as sisters Audrey and Patricia; brothers Ricky and Roger; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

A memorial will be held at 2 PM Saturday April 25, 2015, at Dougherty Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 1—2 PM Saturday in the funeral home.  A family interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.   Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.doughertyofhibbing.com .
