Mary Jo Sundberg
Mary Jo Sundberg, 79, of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2017. She was born in Hibbing on June 11, 1938, and was preceded in death by her parents Eldred and Geneva (Taveggia) Sundberg. She graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing and was a nurse at St. Barnabas Hospital (now HCMC), North American Life and Casualty and Fairview-Columbia Heights Clinic, a past President of, and active member in the Minnesota Association of Occupational Health Nurses and a member of the Basilica. She is survived by cousins, Katharine Taveggia; Tim (Lavonne) Taveggia; Tom Taveggia; their children Stacy (Matt) Brzica; Sean (Ali) Faras; Janele (Steve) Taveggia; Leanne (Joe) Farrell; Elaine (Andrew) Chanova; their grandchildren; and many loving friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, 10/3, at 11AM, St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church, 2357 Bayless Place, St. Paul, with visitation 1 hr. prior. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m, Wednesday, Oct. 4 at Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Catholic Services Appeal Foundation for hospital chaplains, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
