Mary Yugovich

Mary Yugovich died peacefully at Heritage Manor in Chisholm on February 6, 2018.   Mary was born March 30, 1921 in Bovey and grew up in Trout Lake and Hibbing.  She married her love, Frank Yugovich on May 11, 1946.  They lived in Keewatin.

Mary worked for the Federal and State Civil Service Employment.  Her career included The Home for Girls in Sauk Center, MN, Division of Employment in the legal and benefit section, U.S Employment Service

St. Paul and Hibbing, MN, Veterans Administration and Department of Education in Hibbing, DNR Forestry Division in Hibbing MN, Desert Inn Hotel in Las Vegas NV, Hibbing Community Senior Citizen’s Center under the Federal Older American Act.

Mary was involved in many activities around the Keewatin area.

She was active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Keewatin.  Mary was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Minnesota Federation of Women’s Clubs of Hibbing, Keewatin’s Senior Citizens, UMC Hospital, and a member of the Blue Hat Ladies.

Mary was active in the Minnesota Literacy Council.  She volunteered for the Salvation Army, and the American Cancer Prevention Study, Nutrition Survey and Follow Ups.

Mary and Frank enjoyed many bus tours learning about American

History.  Mary especially liked poetry, art, music, and decorating.

Mary is survived by her many nieces, nephews, great, and great, great nieces and nephews.  Mary cherished time spent with her loving friends.

A special thank you to Mike and Vonnie Jukich for the friendship, love and support given to Mary.

Mary’s family is so grateful for the loving care shown at Heritage Manor in Chisholm.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Seth Gogolin celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be in Church one hour before the service.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
