Matilda Ann “Tillie” Hansen

Tillie A. Hansen, 98, lifelong resident of Hibbing died peacefully with family by her side Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing.  She was born on November 8, 1916 to Frank and Amelia (Luketich) Juricich in Hibbing.  She graduated from Hibbing High School with the Class of 1935.  She entered the Sacrament of Marriage on October 8, 1941 with Victor Hansen.  She was employed with Sach’s Brothers in the Haberdasher Department, a former employee with the I.R.S. in the twin cities, and later retired from Merchants and Miners Bank of Hibbing in 1981 after 17 years of service. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing and the Hibbing Tourist Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her brother, James Juricich, Hibbing, sisters, Julia Olin, Hibbing, Marian Tastsides, Duluth, MN, her dear friend, Betty Thronson, Hibbing, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Amelia (Luketich) Juricich, husband, Victor Hansen, brother, Steve Juricich, six sisters, her twin, Rosemary Buzzelli, Mary Pucci, Katherine Juricich, Anne Barrett, Violet Perry, and Dorothy Andrews, and her dear nieces, Judy Barrett, Kathy Barrett, and Susie Douville.

Funeral services for Matilda will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.  Tillie’s family would like especially thank her dear friend Betty Thronson for the tender loving care and unprecedented dedication she gave to our aunt over the past few years, and to Serving Hands and the Heritage Manor Staff for their wonderful care over the past few months.
