Michael Lee Miller
Michael Lee Miller, 69, Hibbing, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Cornerstone Villa Nursing Home in Buhl.  He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on March 30, 1945, to Grover and Beatrice Miller.  Mike graduated from Hibbing High School and was trained as an electrician.  He was a 47 year member of IBEW, Local 294.  In the construction trade, he spent a lot of time on the road, working all over the country in Colorado, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Illinois, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Florida.  He liked to hunt, fish, camp, and listen to music.  Later in life, he took up golf, but it was possible he enjoyed working on his golf cart more than golf itself.  He liked cars and even had a collector car that he drove around.  He enjoyed tinkering in his garage on different projects, the latest one being a chair made out of old water skis.  Mike was well read and many of his project ideas came from his reading.  Mike was one of the kindest people a person could meet.  He always thought of others first and would give them the shirt off his back.
He is survived by a sister, Patti Swanson, of Portland, OR; two nephews, Bryn Gabriel (Elizabeth) Swanson and Jordan Michael (Megan) Swanson; two great-nieces, Lynlea and Chloe Swanson; a special friend, Alice Russo, of Hibbing; and Alice’s family:  John (Catherine) Russo of California, Rose (Don) Schnortz of Hibbing, Robert (Jessica) Russo of Chisholm, and Eric Russo of Hibbing; and Cole, Donald, Jacob, Nathan, Emily, and Gavin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Friday, November 21, 2014, at Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.  To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.doughertyofhibbing.com.
