Michael Dale Rossetter, 62, of Saginaw and Hibbing, MN passed away Friday May 29, 2015 in our mother’s home after a short illness.
Mike was born on July 23, 1952 in Hibbing, attended Hibbing public schools and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1976. He worked for many years at Hibbing Taconite, also at Cirrus Design, and lastly Floe International, after which he realized his dream of retirement in November 2014.
Mike enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, outdoor fires, golf, road trips and putzing around at the family cabin on Swan Lake. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Algonquin Club, and a charter member of the Keep ‘em Flying Club. He was so proud to be a member of the Mississippi Hilton sportsman camp on Big Winnie, recently becoming the senior member. He absolutely loved his time spent there and all the people he met along the way: the awesome members both past and present, the neighbors and many visitors.
He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Rossetter of White Bear Lake, MN, his brother Chuck Rossetter of Shoreview, MN, his sister Susan Englund of Willow, AK, cousins Tom Moberg of Hibbing, David Rossetter of Two Harbors, niece and nephews Nathan and Kristen Englund, Joe, Steven and Jake Rossetter, his significant other Irene Sundvall of Hibbing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale in 1986, and Mary June, who passed just this past November 2014, his grandparents and several uncle and aunts.
Mikey will be missed by many.
There will be a gathering of friends and family at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing on Friday June 5, 2015 from 4:30 to 6:00, followed by a prayer. A reception will be held at the Park Hotel shortly after. Private family interment. Memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.
