Michael Skorich

Michael “Apple” Skorich died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on June 24th, 2024, at the age of 84. He is survived by his bride Marjory. His children, Steven (Cheryl) Skorich, Elizabeth Skorich, Gregory Skorich , Tara (Matt Heinrichs) Walker, Josh (Babette) Picore, Kristie (Adam) Meier. His grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeremy) Uncini, Brandon (Katarina) Skorich, Rachael (Isiah) Dilley, Natalie Skorich, Caleb Skorich, Hadley Meier, Nolen and Carter Heinrichs. His great-grandchildren, Ezra and Leif Uncini and Henley Dilley. His sister Mary ‘Tootsie’ Perunovich and brother Duke (Patty) Skorich. As well as, brother and sister in-laws, cousins , nieces , nephews and friends across the northland. His ability to play any sport was well known. He had a competitive nature about himself which made him a great sportsman and a superb teammate. Apple knew everyone, his ability to remember a name or face was amazing. His teasing nature brought out the best in people. He had a wonderful smile and loud hello that will be missed by many. He started work at the Public Utilities as a lineman and moved on years later to take over the Duke Skorich BBQ with the passing of his parents, Duke and Nettie Skorich.
His family would like to thank Fairview Range Hospice for their care and compassion. Apple has requested no funeral. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Fairview Range Hospice. There will be a celebration of life on 9/28/2024 at the Corner Bar, Hibbing, MN from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. All are welcome to come and share their memories of Apple.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
