Mildred Jean “Peggy” Fiori
Mildred Jean “Peggy” Fiori, 95, Hibbing, died Friday, November 7, 2014 in Hibbing. She was born in Utica Location, near Hibbing on September 21, 1919 to John and Teresa (Nettle) Allison. She had worked for the Dept. of State in Chicago during WW II and married John Fiori in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on June 22, 1946. Upon returning to Hibbing she enjoyed babysitting for years, knitting, working puzzles, and going to every activity that the grandkids were involved in. Peggy was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Bonnie Fiori, Nancy (Pat) McKenzie, Ruth (Kevin) Milani, and Patty Baratto, all of Hibbing, 8 grandchildren, Chris Milani, Katie (James) McKnight, Jenny (Dave Hauer) Milani, Shaun McKenzie, Nicole Baratto, Emily Milani, Molly McKenzie, and Maria Baratto. Besides her parents Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Fiori, brothers, Bill, Bud, Jack, and Larry Allison, sisters, Edna Mae Nyberg, Gladys Nadeau, her twin Penny Allison, Vi Martinson, and Fran Erickson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am. Saturday, November 15, 2014 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be in Church one hour before Mass. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. By request of Peggy’s family, “we ask that you wear blue in honor of her favorite color”. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
