Milton O. Olson, 67, Keewatin, MN, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, in Hibbing.  He was born March 24, 1949, in Thief River Falls, MN to Julius and Mabel Olson.  Milton joined the National Guard in 1968 and served until 1972.  Milton married Susan Rindahl in Thief River Falls in 1967, and they moved to Keewatin shortly thereafter.  He worked at National Steel for 25 years until a massive heart attack in 1998 forced him into retirement.  He always felt fortunate that he was able to see his grandchildren born.  He was a member of the American Legion and the Mid-Range Honor Guard.  He loved hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Susan; children: Mike of Keewatin, Trudi Ruzich of Lino Lakes, MN and Johanna (Greg) Wolfe of Oak Grove, MN; 6 grandchildren: Keller and Amanda Ruzich and Ryan, Kylie, Gage and Ruby Wolfe; his sister, Lillian Myrum, of Keewatin; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Don and Robert; and his nephew, Clayton Myrum.

Funeral service will be held in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Monday, Dec. 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be in the funeral home, Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m and Monday from 10 a.m. until service time.
