Minnie Marie (Chupurdia) Harrison Kivlin
2 February 1912 – 9 October 2018
Minnie was born in Metaline Falls, Washington on February 2, 1912. The family moved to Minnesota sometime in 1917. Minnie graduated from Greenway Township, Itasca County, MN. On May 28, 1932, she married Melvin Harrison. They lived many years at Kelly Lake, MN. Melvin died in 1975. She married John (Jack) Kivlin on February 26, 1992 and lived in Grass Valley, CA. Jack passed away in May 2005. Minnie was a volunteer at the Hibbing Public Library and also worked there as a switchboard operator. The switchboard she used is in the Hibbing museum. She volunteered at the Historical Society and the Leisure Hills nursing home in Hibbing. She was a member of the Pink Ladies at the Sierra Nevada Memorial Miners Hospital Auxiliary in Grass Valley, CA. She was active in her church and participated in many activities such as preparing for the annual bazaar. She loved to read, cook and bake.
Preceding her in death were her parents Mike and Mary, her husbands’ Melvin and Jack, her brothers
Mehilo, Mike, Sam, Nick, Eli, Roddy, Mullins, and Bobby, and her sisters Rosie and Ellen. Minnie lived to
be 106 years, 8 months and 7 days old.
She is survived by her son Dennis Harrison (Phyllis), her grandson Shawn Harrison, granddaughter Nicole Snowberger (Steve), and great granddaughter Lindsey.
Graveside Services will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, MN on June 12, 2019 at 11:00 am. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
