Nicholas Chacich

Nicholas James Chacich, 22, Hibbing, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, March 10, 2016. He was born in Hibbing to James and Traci (Backstrom) Chacich on April 4, 1993. He graduated from Eveleth/Gilbert High School in 2011 and had been employed with Detroit Diesel in Hibbing as an assembler.

Nicholas was a tremendous proud father, loved son and a big brother, also an exceptional grandson.

Nicholas loved hunting and spending time in the woods with his grandpa Chacich. He was the captain of the pontoon at the families summer lake home. His friends were considered an extension of his family.

Nicholas is survived by his life partner, Brittany Kerr, and their daughter, Gemma Rose Chacich, his father, James (Susan) Chacich, Hibbing and mother, Traci Chacich, Eveleth, His sister, Madison LaRue Chacich, Hibbing, paternal grandparents, John and Joyce Chacich, Hibbing, and maternal grandmother, Joyce Backstrom, Hibbing , nephew, Mikah Chacich, niece Meiah Chacich. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Terry Backstrom (Poppa).

Memorial services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church Saturday, March 19, 2016 visitation at 10 AM service is at 11 AM . Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery and a luncheon to follow at church.
