Norbert Leonard Krier, 85, of Hibbing, MN, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Heritage Manor in Chisholm, MN. He was born in Hibbing on May 11, 1938, to George and Rose (Ruzynski) Krier. Norbert graduated from the Hibbing High School and went on to serve his country for two years in the United States Army. He was united in the Sacrament of Marriage to the love of his life, Sandra Tichy, on October 12, 1963. Norbert was an avid outdoorsman as he loved to hunt, fish, ice spear and plant gardens. Throughout his lifetime Norbert had 3 tree farms and they meant the world to him, especially his last one. His latest was located in Cedar Valley and included a garden he planted. He would proudly gather his entire family and harvest the garden in the Fall as a family tradition. He was a dedicated family man and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He would take great pride in taking his children on hikes in the woods, spending time at the family cabin, boat rides to name a few. Another important time in his family was Sunday’s. It was always a day of rest and family gathering. Norbert was a lifetime member of the Catholic community, and his faith was important to him as he attended Mass at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Graduating from the University of Minnesota with his Bachelor of Science degree, he was a bacteriologist, industrial arts teacher, and master electrician. He will be dearly missed by his entire family.
