Norma Jean Uremovich
Norma J. Uremovich, 74, Hibbing died Monday, July 28, 2014 in her home. She was born on December 28, 1939 to Arvid and Viola (Hill) Toivola in Hibbing. A homemaker by trade, Norma was a longtime resident of Hibbing. She also resided in Minneapolis for about 7 years. She was a former member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Her hobbies included; knitting, sewing, crocheting, going to Carey Lake with her husband looking at nature, and she loved collecting thimbles. Her family was very important to her, especially her son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews, and her great nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her son, Steve (Vicki) Batinich, Chisholm, MN, her brother, Don (Marge) Toivola, and sister, Shirley (Bob) Schmidt, both of Hibbing, her four grandchildren, Joel Daniels, Chisholm, Kristy (Luke) Sims, Pensacola, FL, Jennifer (Mat) Fichtner, San Diego, CA, and Melanie Turner, Pensacola, FL, her two great-grandchildren, Lily and Eli Sims, special niece, Kelly (Scott) Johnson, Hibbing, and a special great-niece, Danielle Ryan, many great nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her lifetime friend, Mary Ann Lund, Hibbing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George in 2011, and her niece, Karen Hanson.
Funeral services for Norma will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. The Rev. Dan Erickson will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
