Norman Fimrite

Norman A. Fimrite, 91, Hibbing, died Saturday, September 5 , 2015 at Guardian Angels in Hibbing.  He was born to Andrew and Marie (Christofferson) Fimrite on June 8 , 1924 in Highlanding, MN. He was employed at Range Firestone in Hibbing, retiring in 1968 as a foreman.  Norman married Norma White on December 1 , 1956 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Hibbing. Norman loved the outdoors, planting gardens, working with tractors, fishing and hunting.

Norman was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
The family wishes to thank Pastor Terry Tilton and Dr. Amy Hilde-Philips for their continued care and support.  A special thank you is extended to Guardian Angels Rehabilitation and Health Center for their exceptional loving care for Norman and their support to the entire family. He truly loved his time there.

He is survived by his wife Norma; children, David (Linda) Fimrite, St. Cloud; Karen (David) Rock, Mentor, MN; Roberta Fimrite, Hibbing; Patricia (Shawn) VanLiew, Brooklyn Park, MN; Sherri (Jeffrey) Walters, Hibbing; Kristi (Scott) Westrem, Hibbing; and Kaylee Patterson, Pengilly; sisters, Ethel (David) Griffiths, Palm Bay, FL; June (Dale) Anderson, Duluth; Lorraine Bickel, Des Moines, IA; and Marianne Erickson, Chisholm; 21 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Keith “Kippy” Fimrite in 1962; 4 sisters, Beatrice Hanson; Myrtle Minker; Ruth McFarland and Mae Hanson; and brother, Morris Fimrite.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am., Saturday, September 12 , 2015, in Wesley United Methodist Church with visitation for one hour before the service. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
