Norvall D. Dumond
Norvall D. Dumond, 88, Kelly Lake died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at home with his family by his side. He was born on March 26, 1925 to George and Jessie Dumond in River Falls, WI. He attended school in River Falls, and later entered the U.S. Navy, proudly serving two years for his country. After the war, he married Joyce E. Parsons on October 26, 1946 in River Falls, WI. He and Joyce moved to Kelly Lake, MN in 1947. Norvall was employed as a brakeman with Burlington Northern Railroad. He enjoyed bowling, curling, and the outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing, but most of all he was a devoted stock car racing fan.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Dumond, Kelly Lake, MN, two sons, Steven Dumond, Pengilly, MN, and Bruce (Sandy) Dumond, Waupun, WI, five grandchildren, Jamie (Joe) McKenney, Hibbing, Kelly (Nick) Hoff, Sydney, MT, Stephanie Dumond, Rush City, MN, Jesse Dumond, Hibbing, and Kristi Dumond, South St. Paul, MN, five great-grandchildren, Mya, Matthew, Reece, Kadynce, and Breydon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Scott Dumond in 1979, his parents, George and Jessie Dumond, two brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services for Norvall will be held 1:00pm, Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. Steve Tomberlin will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Thursday. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
