Onorio “Spike” Morelli
Onorio “Spike” Morelli, 93, Hibbing, died Thursday March 8, 2012, at Fairview University Medical Center—Mesabi in Hibbing. He was born in Iron Mountain, MI on August 26, 1918, to Carlo and Barbara Morelli. Spike retired from Hibbing Taconite where he worked as a maintenance mechanic and was a past president of the safety union.
He is survived by 3 daughters: Karin (Richard) Morelli—Galaviz of California, Joyce (John) Chacich of Hibbing and Charlotte (Brendan) Morelli—Panaggio of California; 2 grandsons, James (Sue) Chacich and Jeffrey (Jamie) Chacich, both of Hibbing; 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, June Morelli, in 2004; by his parents and by six brothers.
