Patricia E. Emanuel, 86, Hibbing died Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hibbing. She was born on December 9, 1927 to Tenho and Sima (Makela) Ylatupa in Hibbing. She entered the Sacrament of Marriage with Victor Emanuel on June 10, 1950. She was employed as an operator and office clerk with AT&T. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Keewatin. Her pastimes included; painting, wintering in Arizona, making porcelain dolls, baking, cooking, and especially spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Victor D. Emanuel, Hibbing; her four children, Bob (Veda) Emanuel, Hibbing, Gary Emanuel, Keewatin, Gail (Clint) Tuve, Aurora, MN, and Brian (Kristen) Emanuel, Hibbing; a step-sister, Debbie(Daryl) Caroon, Pengilly, MN; seven grandchildren: Nicole (Eric) Lange, Proctor, MN, Emily (Nathan) Goltz, St. Paul, MN, Michelle (Blake) Peterson, Two Harbors, MN, Melanie (Mary Dye) Tuve, Minneapolis, MN, Kayla Emanuel, Hibbing, Tammy Foster, Chisholm, and Christopher Manska, Chisholm, MN; six great-grandchildren: Elsa, Cade, Kallan, Svea, Jersey, and Colleen; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tenho and Sima (Makela) Ylatupa, and two step brothers, Jackie and Ronnie Ylatupa.
Funeral services for Patricia will be held at 11:00am, Monday, September 29, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Brian Lederer will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
