It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of Patrick Aloysius Connors, age 79, of Hibbing. Patrick passed away peacefully at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Patrick was born in Hibbing on January 23, 1946, to Margaret (McCabe) and Reuben Connors. He was a Hibbing graduate with the class of 1966. After High School, he had various jobs including, working at Sammy’s Pizza, Public Utilities, Sullivan Candy, and Satellite. He joined the Navy as a Seabee and was proud of his service. He spent the rest of his career being a route salesman for Tasty and Master Bread.
Patrick was a loyal friend and always wanted to help his family in any way possible. Pat enjoyed fishing along with spending time outdoors. He loved to take care of his yard during all times of the year. He would always make sure he made it to his grandchildren’s sporting events whether it was rain or shine. Patrick always made sure he had his coffee every day and loved to watch the Minnesota Vikings play every week.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, caring brother, and loyal friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Coetta (Gates) Connors daughters, Denise (Bob) Massich and Jenelle Connors, three loving grandchildren Courtney, Christian and Allee, sister Lucy (LeRoy) Radovich and brother-in-law Rick (Melanie) Gates, along with many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Margaret and Reuben, his sisters Liz (Bill) Berklich, Kay (Jerry) Nevanen, and Sharon (Darryl) Foster brother in laws Patrick Gates and Louis (Kathleen) Gates, along with his beloved dog Dodger.
We wish to thank Fairview Range Medical Center hospital staff and Oncology along with Guardian Angels for their gracious care. A special thank you to Fairview Hospice for their compassionate end-of-life care.
A Mass of Christian burial with full military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Hibbing, MN. Father Bill Skarich will officiate services. Visitation will take place one hour prior to mass on Monday at the Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing
