Patrick K. “Pat” Oestreich

Patrick K. “Pat” Oestreich, 66, Hibbing, died July 21, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth after a long illness.  He was born January 31, 1947 in Duluth.  Pat attended Duluth Cathedral High School (Marshall) and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1964, serving for four years on the U.S.S. Dixie AD-14 in the Pacific. He worked in building maintenance for years in Duluth, most recently at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, before retiring for health reasons. Pat played an important part in many people’s lives and lived his life passionately in whatever he pursued. Over the course of his life, Pat was a self-taught expert guitar player, a creative photographer and a wonderful chef. Conversations over coffee were always a treat with Pat for his siblings and other family members.

Pat was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otto and Theresa Lindholm and William and Rosalie Oestreich; and parents, William and Marcelle Oestreich.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen (Radika) Oestreich and son Steven, both of Hibbing; daughter, Connie Oestreich, Chula Vista, Calif.; brothers, Larry Oestreich, Duluth; Karl (Theresa) Oestreich, Eagan, Minn.; David Oestreich, Eagan; Mark (Vicki) Oestreich, Duluth; and sisters, Linda (Todd) Anderson, Deerwood, Minn; and Barbara (Thomas) Murray, Anoka, Minn., and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Pat will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.  The Rev. Tim Rice will officiate.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday.  Interment will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
