Patrick D. Ryan, 22, lifelong resident of Hibbing passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Essentia St. Mary’s in Duluth, MN. He was born a twin on April 16, 1993 to Robert and Colleen Ryan in Duluth, MN. Patrick was a 2012 graduate of the Hibbing High School and later achieved an Associates of Arts degree in Industrial Systems Technology from HCC. He was employed at Cast Corp. in Hibbing for the past 6 years. To Patrick Cast Corp. was more than a job, it was his second family and he was very proud to be an employee. His pastimes were many, but racing was a huge part of his life. He was the pit crew for # 17 pure stock, a car in which his twin brother, Michael raced. Patrick was an avid racing fan where he made many friends. He also loved hanging out in his neighbor’s garage, camping and sitting by the campfire, jet skiing on Side Lake, and dirt biking. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Colleen and Bob Ryan of Hibbing, his twin brother, Michael Ryan, Hibbing, maternal grandmother, Bernadette “Bernie” Lais, Wayzata, MN, his many aunts and uncles, Coleen (Michael) Keppel, Side Lake, MN, Richard (Cindy) Ryan, Hibbing, Mary (Al) Willard, Hibbing, Therese Perrier, Richfield, MN, Ed (Renee) Lais, Richfield, MN, Mary (Gio) Venetelli, Temecula, CA, Ginny (Jeff) Leech, Mound, MN, and Patty (Scott) Campbell, Maple Grove, MN, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his Maternal grandfather, Orville Lais, Paternal grandparents, Robert and Lucille Ryan, and an uncle, Mike Perrier.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10-12:00 noon, Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will officiate a service at 12:00 noon at the church. A reception will follow in St. Leo’s Hall located in the Assumption School immediately following the 12:00 service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Patrick D. Ryan scholarship fund. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral home of Hibbing.
