Peggy A. Richtarich, 72, Lake Leander, Britt, MN, formerly of Hibbing died Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Virginia Convalescent Center in Virginia with family by her side. She was born on November 15, 1942 to Harley and Mary (Minckler) LeDoux in Virginia, MN. She attended Buhl schools and graduated from Martin Hughes High School in 1960. Peggy continued her education with St. Mary’s Medical Center and completed their Radiological Technician Program in 1962. She entered the Sacrament of Marriage with Michael Richtarich on June 9, 1962 and they celebrated 53 years together this year. She and her husband Mike moved to Hibbing in 1966 where they raised their family, and in 1998 moved to their lake home on Lake Leander. Peggy was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. She was employed in Hibbing and Chisholm at various health care facilities over her career as a radiological technician. Along with her husband, Peggy also operated Arrowhead Driver Training for 15 years. She was a volunteer at St. Leo’s Catholic Church and with meals on wheels. One of her favorite pastimes was the garden, especially her flowers.
Peggy was dedicated to her family. She loved attending her grandchildren’s activities and hosting family functions at her beloved Lake Leander.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Michael Richtarich, Britt, MN, Susan (David) Golfis, Waterford, MI, Sandy (Dan) Courneya, Side Lake, MN, and Tony (Kelly) Richtarich, Savage, MN, sister, Nancy (Archie) Greenwaldt, Shakopee, MN, six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn, and Sarah Golfis, Jeffrey Courneya, and Adrian and Riley Richtarich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert LeDoux, sister-in-law, Margaret Redmond, and her grandson Eric A. Courneya in 2014.
Funeral services for Peggy will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Charles Flynn will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be from 9:30am until the 11:00am funeral Mass at the church on Thursday. A private family interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery of Buhl, MN. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Virginia Convalescent Center for the excellent care they provided to Peggy. Memorials are preferred to the Range Regional Animal Rescue or the donor’s choice. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
