Peggy was born to Violet and William Sager on December 25th, 1940. She lived in Cass Lake, MN until she was six years old and she then moved back to Hibbing, MN where she attended school at the North Hibbing School, the Brooklyn and finally the Hibbing High School. Peggy met Clarence (Skeezex) when she was 15 years old and it was love at first sight. Even given the age difference, there was an affectionate bond between the two of them that was very obvious. They married on June 7, 1958 at the Grace Lutheran Church here in Hibbing. They lived in Hibbing until 1973 and then moved to Lake Worth, Florida. They were there but a short time as the weather was not favorable for Peg. They searched out an area that would be best for the two of them and they finally settled in Estill Springs, TN. They built a new home in Estill on a beautiful landscaped knoll. The couple was there until 2015 when they were forced to move back to Hibbing due to heath reasons for Skeezex. Peggy was a perfect caregiver up until Skeezex’s last day. Peggy had her own home and she lived alone till September of 2018 when she took up residence at the Lee Senior Center. She had no problem connecting with the card playing, bingo, and fellowship. Peggy never had a problem making friends, it just came naturally. Some of her greatest accomplishments that she felt she had were earning her GED in her late sixties, her crocheting, quilt making, baking, sewing, painting and any craft that she could imagine from whatever she found lying around. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence (Skeezex) Traeger, her mother and father, Violet and William, stepfather, Oscar Nelson, brother, Roy Sager and sister, Ruby Ruzicka. She is survived by her sister, Connie (Sherman “Slim”) Sirjord, her dearly loved sister-in-law, Leona Hammerbeck, John Sather, who did so much for Peg when she was with us, and sister-in-law, DoDo Shimek. Peggy also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews as well as her dearly loved Godchildren. Peg was especially fond of Michael John Sirjord, one of her Godsons. Peggy is welcomed into the loving graces of her heavenly pall bearers: Roy Sager, Ruby Ruzicka, Harold (Bud) Nelson, Phillip Traeger, Clarice Doit and Wilfred Traeger. Peggy made this final journey in death on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 3:00 A.M. Rest in Peace my Dear, we love you and miss you already. We wish to thank the third floor staff at the facility Peggy was at, Dr. Sharp who was so kind, and everyone who has been so kind to the family during this time. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
