Philip Pascuzzi
Philip Pascuzzi, 90, Hibbing passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2015, at home. He was born April 24, 1924, in Hibbing to Antonio and Rose (Mancuso) Pascuzzi. Philip was raised in Kitzville. He was employed with Red Wing Shoe Shop and left high school in 12
th
grade to work on the Alaskan Highway. Later, Phil joined the United States Army and proudly served his country during World War II, being honorably discharged in 1946. After the war, Phil was employed in the iron ore mines in northern Minnesota and Montana. When he retired from mining, he worked for the Hibbing Sanitation Department with the City of Hibbing. Phil was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, and the Croation Fraternal Union.
Phil enjoyed carpentry, gardening, snowmobiling with Blackie, feeding the birds and squirrels, coffee with the guys, and most of all, spoiling the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his great-great-granddaughter. He taught us life lessons that at the time we did not understand … we now know.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Pascuzzi, Kitzville, MN; a son, Phil (Nancy) Pascuzzi, Ham Lake, MN; two daughters, Roberta Pascuzzi, Duluth, MN, and Brenda Pascuzzi, Brooklyn Park, MN; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and his great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Rose; his son, Randy Allen Pascuzzi; a brother, Russell Pascuzzi; and his sister, Teresa Montcalm.
Funeral services for Phil will be held at 1 PM, Monday, April 27, 2015, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Kevin Olson will officiate. Visitation will be held in church on Monday from 11 AM until the 1 PM funeral service. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
