Randall James Rupert
It is with great sadness that the family of Randall James Rupert announces his passing at home
on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the age of 65. Randy was born on February 5th, 1953 to
Kenneth and Almira(Wrabetz)Rupert in Milwaukee, WI and attended high school in
Germantown, WI. He was a Vietnam veteran and served in the Navy on the USS Bon Homme
Richard CVA-31 and was honorably discharged. He worked at Westville Correctional Center, IN.
He enjoyed masonry work in Minneapolis, MN. In his later years, he became a custodian at
Straightgate Church. He always made sure to take long walks and bike rides through the city .
He also enjoyed spending time in the woods camping, hunting, hiking, and canoeing the St.
Louis River. His interests were in art, history, and politics. The best of days were spent with his
children and grandchildren. They were the highlight of his life
Randy will be forever remembered by his children Jessica Rupert(Barr), Miles(Jessica),
Josiah, Elaine Yordy, and Charlotte Rupert, and by his grandchildren Katrina, Olivia, and Wyatt
Barr, and Lilyanna, Emerson, and Adeline Yordy, and Eden and Evan Rupert, and Gabriel
Rupert. and by his brothers John(Sherry), Ken(Ruth Ann), and Ted Rupert, and by his cousins,
nieces, and nephews. He will also be remembered by his numerous friends at Straightgate
Church.
A Celebration of Randy’s life will be held at Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing at 12:00
P.M. on Wednesday, March 7th, 2018. Visitaion will begin at 11 a.m..
Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
