Raphael M. “Ray” Wenneson
Raphael M. “Ray” Wenneson, 79, Hibbing, died Wed. Sept. 27, 2017 in the Fairview Range Medical Center, Hibbing. He was born March 5, 1938 in Lynchville, ND to Melvin and Ida Wenneson. He enjoyed farming in the Lynchville and Valley City area until he moved to northern Minnesota as a young man He worked there as a millwright for 40 years. In his free time Ray liked to refurbish cars to sell.
He is survived by his first wife Bernice, his children Wade of Hibbing, Wayland (Ruth) of Arlington, TX, Jim of Duluth, MN, Curtis of Minneapolis, MN and Julie Wenneson of Madison, WI, sisters: Doloris Bloomer of Duluth, MN and Gloria Solots of Buffalo, MN, 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his second wife Carol, a brother and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing. Visitation will be from Noon until service time.
