Richard Alan “Dick” Campbell
Richard Alan “Dick” Campbell, 75, Hibbing, die d Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born in Penobscot Location near Hibbing on March 1, 1939, to Donald and Violet Campbell. Dick served in the US Navy from 1957—1959, and was united in marriage to Kay Smart in 1962. Dick had worked as a truck driver for J&L Steel, as a bus driver and mechanic in Minneapolis and for Kubena Construction in Hibbing. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a longtime member of Swan Lake Country Club in Pengilly. Dick loved to play golf, both with his daughter, Ashley, and with his many friends. He also enjoyed camping.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kay Campbell, of Hibbing; a son, Corby Campbell of Hibbing; a daughter, Ashley Campbell, of Hibbing; a sister, Judy (Rick) Haverkost, of Hibbing; an aunt, Delores Johnson, of Hibbing; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Kay Cochran, on Sept. 2, 1983; by his parents; and by two sisters, Donna and Patty.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 28, 2014, from 5—7 PM at Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing. Visitation will continue on Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for one hour prior to the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial.
