Richard J. “Dick” Healy

Richard J. Healy, 70, longtime resident of Nashwauk died Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at home with family by his side.  He was born on May 19, 1945 to Kenneth J. and Ruth (Quast) Healy in St. Peter, MN.  Richard attended Hutchinson schools.  After school, Richard proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Army for three years.  He entered the Sacrament of Marriage with Janice Trimbo on Dec. 22, 1967 They moved to California and resided there for 8 years.  He has since been a resident of the Nashwauk area for the past 36 years.  Richard was employed most recently with Latvala Oil Company as a fuel truck driver.  He was a volunteer for many years with the Nashwauk Parade.  He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and putzing in the yard.

He is survived by his wife, Janice, Nashwauk, five children, Roxanne Healy, Hutchinson, MN, Kenneth (Kimberly) Healy, Indianapolis, IN, Jeff Healy, Hutchinson, MN, Mike (Molly) Healy, Nashwauk, MN, and April (Greg) Baumann, Keewatin, MN, brother, John (Sandy) Healy, Nashwauk, sister, Patricia (Ronald) Young, Oceanside, CA, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Healy, Ruth Peterson and his step-father, Milan Peterson, and his brother, Thomas Healy.

Funeral services for Dick will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk.  The Rev. Fr. Seth Gogolin will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be from 10:00am until the 11:00am Mass at the church on Wednesday.  Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
