Richard Louis Kmett Sr.
Richard L. Kmett Sr.,81, Keewatin, formerly of Embarrass entered into the Lord’s rest on October 2, 2013 at home. He was born on January 6, 1932 in Chisholm and spent most of his residence in Embarrass before settling in Keewatin. A retiree of Erie Mining Co., he enjoyed many varied interests including; fishing, reading, driving, auctions, antiquing, and spending time at the coffee shop with his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Leona, children, Richard L. Jr., Steven, Rick (Amy), Keith, Gary, Lyle, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Faye (Hellman) Kmett, and a daughter, Lisa Kmett.
A memorial service for Richard will be held at 11:00am, Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing followed by a luncheon. The Rev. Fr. Brian Lederer will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Monday. A private interment will be held in the Embarrass Cemetery in Embarrass. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
